Told Ya So

Button Up: Ralph Lauren, Pants: Gap, (similar), Shoes: Target

So was I right or was I right?? I knew that these shoes would hit that pavement more than once!  Seriously too comfortable for words.  Today I decided to go for a little "prep with an edge" look.  I adorned my two favorite trends as of the season: sneaker wedges and a bright pink lip (which these pics do NOT do justice). Not gonna lie, I felt pretty spunky today which most definitely added a little pep to my step!  Hoping everyone finds their "spunk" for the day!

XOXO,
Hannah

Awkward Wednesday

Dress: Boston Store (Collective Concepts, in stores), Booties: Francescas

Being a new blogger, I am still adjusting to the whole "model your clothes" thing. Whenever Morgan is taking my photos, I always ask "how do I make these look natural?".  The thing is, when i try to look natural they turn out as far from that as possible... awkward would be a much better term.  Taking these pics is harder than it looks! From the 50 pics that she typically snaps an average of five of them turn out... meaning no double chin, I'm not distracted by the freezing temps (note the fists i typically make), and my main is not blowing in my face.  Luckily, something funny typically happens (or I just laugh at my terrible modeling attempts) and we get a few natural laughing shots which typically turn out the best.  So heres to improving my "modeling" abilities. Cheers to being awkward.

Flowers in Your Hair

Blazer: Gap (in stores), Chinos: Target, Shoes: Target,

I have been a bad blogger lately; but for good reason.  I worked at America's Beauty Show this weekend and Monday which consumed all of my time (a post to come with the detes on the event!). My spring break was pretty busy as well.  I was so so lucky to spend a lot of quality time with my sweet sweet mom!  She completely spoiled me! We did yoga, got massages, went to lunch, shopped, and most importantly got to be in each others presence!  I am such a lucky girl to have the mother that I do.  While shopping we picked up a few items, including this outfit! I am love love loving the sneaker wedge trend! Whether you love it or hate it, you will find me in these bad boys for many posts to come (I can just feel it!) Chicago just  screamed spring today... but looks can be deceiving.  In reality it was quite chilly.  No matter the temp, I just love sunshine and it puts me in a sunny mood! Flowers in Your Hair by the Lumineers has been on serious repeat to match my mood (if you haven't heard it, you have to check it out)

All of the fab photography that you see on Sidewalk Struts is thanks to my sweet RA, Morgan!

Fit and Flare

Sweater: H&M (Similar), Jeans: Obey (Similar)

There's something to be said about jeans that are not skinny.  Skinny jeans have completely swept the fashion industry and have become the "norm".  I find it a bit refreshing to have a pair of non- skinnies in my wardrobe to break from my classic daily skinny fit looks!  I recommend giving them a try if you have not already.

All Booked

Shirt: J. Crew, Pants: Gap, Necklace: Thrifted, Booties: Francesca's

So sorry for the lack of posts this past week!  To say that my schedule was crazy would be an understatement.  Last week was the week before my universities spring break, which is WAY too early in my opinion.  In the midst of finishing up papers and projects it was this guys birthday:

I faced a classic Wisco snow storm and made the slippery trek from the Windy City to Mil Town to surprise my ridiculously handsome boyfriend on his birthday!  It was a short stay before I ran back down to Chicago to finish up a few assignments and classes before I made the trip a day later to head home for spring break. Unfortunately my schedule this week does not include a tropical vacation, but home isn't so bad if I do say so myself.  Eating food that isn't served on a tray, my own bed, and countless loved ones, ahh the joys of home sweet home.
