Fakin' It Till I Make It

Vest: Forever 21 (similar), Sweater: H&M, Pants: H&M, Shoes: Forever 21 (similar), Sunglasses: Anthropologie (similar), Watch: Fossil

In Spring 2013 Valentino debuted their collection of studded shoes in a line named Rockstud. They are positively divine.  Unfortunately, I cannot afford a $700 pair of flats, so my $8 Forever 21 knockoffs will have to do for now.  Fake it till you make it... right?  Although they are not the real deal, I still adore these studded gems and had fun transitioning them, along with the vest, into fall.   I knew this military inspired piece would make more than one appearance here on Struts. It perfectly spices up my minimalistic chic wardrobe while adding a trendy flare as military inspired looks are everywhere this Fall. Pairing it with my cozy sweater and oxblood pants makes the look quite seasonably appropriate, if I do say so myself ;)
Here's to knockoffs!

Batter Up

Tee: Nordstrom, Jeans: Thrifted, Bag: Steve Madden (old),Wedges: Dolce Vita

I do not know why it took me so long to try a baseball tee but my oh my have I been missing out.  Honestly this one is so comfortable and there is so so much I can do with it. I am going to have fun dressing this thing up and down.  For this look, I decided to play around with my makeup a bit by incorporating a red lip to add just a little sass.  Lets just say that I will probably never tire of these jeans.  I just love em', what can I say?! I really enjoy taking basics and creating something entirely unique.

XOXO,
Hannah

Hidden Gems

Sweater: H&M, Leggings: Zara(similar),Booties: Steve Madden (mine are leather, these are suede), Necklaces: H&M and Forever 21

Going to school in Chicago has many perks... especially for a fashion lover.  The shopping is too hard to pass up making my closet very happy.  This past weekend was a mega fall shopping weekend.  When I stopped into Zara I tried on these leggings(which are green but you can't tell in the pics) I most definitely thought they would cost a pretty penny.  Walked out with these guys for ten bucks! Definition of hidden gems! Here's to spectacular deals!

Transitions

Top: Forever 21, Jacket: Forever 21, Skirt: Ann Taylor

This crochet top was one of my favorite purchases of the summer. I just had to strut it one last time before summer was officially over.  I decided to add the black pleated skirt to tone down the otherwise "summery" top. Not gonna lie, I am SO pumped for fall fashion. I am loving the upcoming trends for this season and can't wait to play a little dress up ;)
Here's to the love of fashion!

Hannah

Armed and Ready

Dress: Forever 21 (similar), Vest: Forever 21, Shoes: Old Navy (in stores, on sale!), Bag: DSW (old), Sunglasses: Anthropologie, Earrings: Gifted

I decided to step outside of my comfort zone when I went with this camo number and boy am I glad I did.  I have to say, I felt like a real fashion blogger when I put this bad boy on.  I think that vests are great transition pieces from summer to fall, especially when it incorporates the warm colors of camo.  I have a good feeling that this piece will make more than one appearance here on Struts.
Also, these sunnies... picked them up about 10 minutes before I snapped these shots. I. am. obsessed. I've been looking for a great pair of shades for awhile now and I think these are the perfect fit.
I hope this post finds you whoopin' it up in these last days of summer bliss.  Fall is quickly returning and I am trying to squeeze every minute out of what is left of sweet summer time.

XO,
Hannah

Casual Days, Classy Nights

A couple of weeks ago my friends and I were lucky enough to attend an event held by the National Governors Association, as the conference was held in our very own Milwaukee.  The event was held at Milwaukee's gorgeous Discovery World which looks over Lake Michigan. I have to say, it was a pretty cool event.  Delicious catering, preppy styles, a beautiful view, and some pretty amazing people.  My favorite part: the dance floor. Oh did we dance the night away.

Dress: Gap (old), Blazer: Forever 21 (old), Wedges: Dolce Vita, Necklace: Gifted

For this look I stuck to the basics and added a little pop of color to jazz it up a bit.  I didn't think it would hurt to wear a subtle red, white, and blue ensemble to a political event ;)

Here are a few snapshots of the gang throughout the lovely evening to give you a little taste of our beautiful city and the amazing event:

My absolute favorite picture from this summer:

Although our whole crew couldn't be there, it was still one of the highlights of my summer. So grateful for friends like these and magical nights.
