Monday Brights

Jacket: Gap (old), Skirt: Gap (old), Necklace: Lia Sophia, Sandals: American Eagle (old)

Today was absolutely gorgeous and was most definitely bright skirt worthy!
I was lucky enough to enjoy the weather while sipping iced lattes with a dear friend.
I've been super into buttoning button ups all the way up and adding a necklace to accentuate the collar.  Maybe a trend you too would like to try?
Here's to enjoying the beautiful outdoors and experimenting with new trends!

Styling Tip Wednesday: Knotted

Denim Jacket: Forever 21 (similar), Dress: Forever 21 (old), Scarf: Forever 21 (old), Shoes: Target, Bracelet: Francescas (in stores)

Styling Tip Wednesday:
Tie knots on both ends of your scarves for a more spring/ summer like look. I love styling my scarves like this because it enables me to wear them in warmer temperatures but without the added bulkiness/ warmth scarves can typically provide! Scarves are also great transition pieces. By adding a floral print scarf to my neutral look takes it from bland to spring in a hot second!

Hope you find these tips helpful!

Hannah

Tuesday Blues

Top: Forever 21 (in stores), Jeans: TJ Maxx (similar),Cardigan: Gap (similar), Wedges: Dolce Vita

I have never been a huge fan of navy.  For no particular reason, really, I was just never drawn to it...until recently! I bought this cardigan on mega sale at Gap for 9 bucks.  At the time I was not super fond of the color, but boy am I glad I bought it! My appreciation for navy has just skyrocketed.  It is so versatile and classic and I am LOVING it for spring!
When I snagged this top at forever recently, I knew that it would be the beginning to a long line of navy pieces in my wardrobe. I felt EXTRA springy with the white jeans (another one of my fav spring trends) and these wedges. Let me tell you about these wedges.  Im mildly obsessed... no scratch mildly.. COMPLETELY obsessed. I found these $100 wedges at a thrift store for... brace yourself... $25!!! Im pretty sure I cried a little when I bought them.
So here's to navy and great finds!

XOXO,
Hannah

BYOB

Vest: Thrifted (originally from TopShop, Top: Thrifted (originally from H&M), Necklace: Tiffany's (similar), Gold Necklace: American Eagle (old), Pants: Gap (old), Shoes: Target (similar: here and here), Watch: Fossil

I am lucky to go to a school surrounded by such hidden gems. Chicago is a fantastic place to go thrift shopping, specifically in Wicker Park.  This past weekend I went on a bit of a thrifting spree.  My oh my did I hit the mother load of thrifty finds.

This vest. Obsessed. When I saw this masterpiece at Buffalo Exchange I just knew it had to be mine.  The $17 price tag on what would normally cost $80 a few miles away at Topshop... I mean COME ON.  How to die is that!?  I just know that this piece will make frequent appearances in my outfits to come.

If you have the chance to go to Buffalo Exchange, do NOT hesitate to go. Just don't forget to BYOB...as in bring your own bag; they do not provide them. Honestly every single thing that I tried on fit perfectly.  While I walked away with a pile of fab pieces, I most definitely could have bought more than I did...my wallet just wouldn't have been able to take it unfortunately.

The thing I just adore most about thrifting is the unique trait that all of the garments carry.  Knowing that you will walk away with something truly unique just adds this sort of thrill to you're shopping experience!  The fact that it's environmentally and budget friendly is just an added bonus!
Here's to discovering unique pieces!

 XOXO,

Let Me Tell Ya Bout My Best Friend

This girl.
This weekend my very best friend forever (when I say forever I actually mean forever!) came to visit me (isn't she gorge!?!)! We have been inseparable since I was two and she was one.  The weekend was Hannah and Sara time at its finest. We did what we do best; shopped till we dropped.

Saturday was dedicated to thrifting and there is no better place to go than Wicker Park.  If you are in the Chicago land area, you MUST go to Wicker Park.  They have the most darling boutiques, consignment shops, restaurants, cafes... the list goes on and on.  I did some serious damage at Buffalo Exchange (be sure to check it out).  I will most definitely be wearing my finds in posts to come!  While Wicker Park is to die for, how could we pass up Michigan Ave??

Here are some more pics from her absolutely fab visit!

(Sara got a little camera shy...)

(But for NO reason... honestly though how beautiful is she!?)

(Our to DIE lunch)

(How could we go a day without a tea run?)

(That's lavender lemonade... 'nough said)

(We got some old mom jeans from a thrift shop and made it our project to create some high wasted distressed shorts!)

Sara is the epitome of a best friend in the truest sense of the term.  She is the sister I never had but always wanted and I don't know what I would do without this amazing girl! I am incredibly lucky to have a friendship as strong as ours.  Everyone needs a friend like Sara and I don't know what I did to deserve her!
Cheers to best friends!

XOXO,
Hannah

Come On People!

Pants: Kohls, Sweater: H&M (Old), Shoes: Thrifted, Beanie: Amazon

The weather is finally starting to somewhat resemble spring!  To say that I am excited would be a MAJOR understatement.
I was extremely disappointed by the many people who felt the need to comment on my beanie today! Rather than appreciating my self expression, they felt the need to question it.  If I had a dollar for every person who asked me "do you know you are wearing a knit hat in spring?" umm no actually I didn't! Thanks for informing me!  Come on people, it's a beanie!  Ohh the joys of a small private school thats' main population is made up of fashionably inept jocks!
Nonetheless, these people will not stop me from embracing my wardrobes full potential! Cheers to a fashionable Monday!

XOXO,
Hannah

Spotted

Skirt: Loft (Similar), Sweater: Anthropologie (old), Tights: Gap

It's been awhile.  My sincerest apologies. Not gonna lie,the internet, specifically Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, have been just torturous lately.  My news feeds are flooded with pictures of people in absolute paradise...while I'm at school, in 30 degree weather, and slaving away at paper upon paper.  It. Is. Brutal.  But, I need to keep in mind that in a mere five weeks i will have completed my first year of college and it will officially be summer vacation.  How absolutely ridiculous is that to think about! This year has been one of the biggest (and hardest) of my life.  Everything changed in a very short amount of time, but my how I've grown from it all.  I think that college is doing what it's supposed to do for me.  I am completely finding myself and realizing what I want from life and how and where I will contribute to this big bad world.
On a lighter note, I am working as a dresser for a fashion show at the school that I take my fashion classes at!  I am extremely excited and I hope to learn a lot about styling and fashion (oh and have a little fun too! ;) Most definitely a post to come on this exciting weekend!  My most exciting point of the week: scoring tickets to Lollapalooza to see my two fav bands... on the SAME day!  Me and my boy will be seeing Mumford and Sons AND The Lumineers! What a great thing to look forward to this summer! Great music and a great boy... I'm too lucky.
Here's to everyone finding themselves in this crazy thing called life!

XOXO,
Hannah
