Armed and Ready

Dress: Forever 21 (similar), Vest: Forever 21, Shoes: Old Navy (in stores, on sale!), Bag: DSW (old), Sunglasses: Anthropologie, Earrings: Gifted

I decided to step outside of my comfort zone when I went with this camo number and boy am I glad I did.  I have to say, I felt like a real fashion blogger when I put this bad boy on.  I think that vests are great transition pieces from summer to fall, especially when it incorporates the warm colors of camo.  I have a good feeling that this piece will make more than one appearance here on Struts.
Also, these sunnies... picked them up about 10 minutes before I snapped these shots. I. am. obsessed. I've been looking for a great pair of shades for awhile now and I think these are the perfect fit.
I hope this post finds you whoopin' it up in these last days of summer bliss.  Fall is quickly returning and I am trying to squeeze every minute out of what is left of sweet summer time.

XO,
Hannah

Casual Days, Classy Nights

A couple of weeks ago my friends and I were lucky enough to attend an event held by the National Governors Association, as the conference was held in our very own Milwaukee.  The event was held at Milwaukee's gorgeous Discovery World which looks over Lake Michigan. I have to say, it was a pretty cool event.  Delicious catering, preppy styles, a beautiful view, and some pretty amazing people.  My favorite part: the dance floor. Oh did we dance the night away.

Dress: Gap (old), Blazer: Forever 21 (old), Wedges: Dolce Vita, Necklace: Gifted

For this look I stuck to the basics and added a little pop of color to jazz it up a bit.  I didn't think it would hurt to wear a subtle red, white, and blue ensemble to a political event ;)

Here are a few snapshots of the gang throughout the lovely evening to give you a little taste of our beautiful city and the amazing event:

My absolute favorite picture from this summer:

Although our whole crew couldn't be there, it was still one of the highlights of my summer. So grateful for friends like these and magical nights.

XOXO,
Hannah

Snapshots

A few weeks back my mom and I took a girls road trip to visit some family friends.  My mom has an amazing group of friends that have been whooping it up since their early college years.  Their friendship is quite admirable and I can only hope that my friends and I stay as close as my mom and her's over the years! One of my mom's friends daughters, Blaire, who happens to be a good friend of mine, is a photographer and was kind enough to snap some shots of me while we were visiting:

Blaire is honestly one of the most talented artists and such a beautiful person.  I just love spending time with her and "ooo'ing and ahhh'ing" over all of her works.  Her creativity inspires me to become something more than I am and for that, among many other things, I love her. She challenges me and I love very minute of it.  Be sure to check out her photography on her blog, the first time i ran away, which chronicles her study abroad trip to London.  Her pics are truly beautiful and her words wonderfully poetic. We had a wonderful stay in beautiful Brighton, MI which was filled with poker, lunching, shopping, chatting, and of course lots and lots of giggles ;)

Here's to life long friendships and being challenged.

XOXO,
Hannah
