We had a semi formal event at my school this weekend (any excuse to dress up right?)  Here's what I wore! I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Birthday Surprise!

To kick off the weekend a few of my friends and I surprised one of our best friends, Aubrey, for her birthday! We were able to pull of the surprise and showed up on her campus for a fun night out! Loyola is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from my campus, but some of our friends traveled great lengths to get there.  She was sufficiently surprised and we had a wonderful night meeting new friends and catching up with the old. I am so grateful to have the beautiful friends that I do. We are always able to pick up right where we left off, which is something truly special.  So here's to lifelong friendships, surprise getaways, and most importantly to Aubrey: one of the most unique, strong, beautiful, and kind individuals I have ever known.

Sidewalk Struttin'

To say that I am loving these shoes would be a complete understatement. They have been on some serious replay lately. I thought it would be appropriate that I take some pics on the sidewalk in order to live up to my blogs name.  These kicks hit the pavement while I strutted my stuff as best I could.  Hopefully I did Sidewalk Struts justice.

Spring is in the air

It is a balmy 45 whole degrees in River Forest today!  Spring is in the air and knowing that it will not last long, I decided to embrace it while I can!  This floral blouse seemed to be the perfect way to pay tribute to the glance of spring that this beautiful day has brought!

A little heart to heart

When I saw this neon pink dress at Old Navy, I immediately knew that it would match my annual valentines day cheer! You could also say that the $7.49 price tag didn't hurt that cheer as well. Although my day wasn't as cheery as I had anticipated, how can your heart not be warmed on a bright pink, red, and heart themed day!? I hope that you had a day filled with flowers and chocolates and above all, LOVE!  Take the time today to appreciate the ones that you hold near and dear to your heart.

Sometimes all you need is a cup of tea(l)

For my first post I decided that I would pay tribute to two of my favorite things.  The color teal and tea.  Ironically the word tea can be found within teal (coincidence... I think yes).  Sometimes amongst the craziness of life all you need is to surround yourself with some of your favorite things.  Although drinking my jasmine green tea, with a a bit more than a pinch of honey, and wearing my favorite color in the form of a J.Crew blouse will not write the paper that I have due on Friday nor will it read the 60 pages of my fashion textbook that continue to go unread, it does seem to bring a little extra joy to an otherwise average day.  So take some time to embrace YOUR favorites and maybe they will transform your average day to a not- so- average one!
